Leadpages vs Unbounce vs Instapage: Landing Page Builders Compared
Three platforms aimed at the same job — turning ad clicks into leads — with three very different pricing models. The headline prices look close enough to be interchangeable. They aren't. What separates them is how they charge you when a campaign actually works.
Pricing below came directly from each vendor's own pricing page in July 2026. Check before you buy. This category moves fast, and Leadpages rebuilt its entire product recently, which means most comparison articles you'll find are quoting plans that no longer exist.

The thing that actually decides this
Two of these three charge you more as you get more traffic. One doesn't.
Unbounce meters unique monthly visitors — 500 on Starter, 20,000 on Build, 30,000 on Experiment, 50,000 on Optimize. Exceed it and your pages keep running, but you're billed a one-off overage.
Instapage does the same: 15,000 visitors on Create, 30,000 on Optimize, with a 50,000 option.
Leadpages removed traffic caps entirely. Every plan is unlimited traffic and unlimited pages.
If your traffic is small and steady this barely matters. If you're running paid campaigns that scale — the exact use case all three are sold for — it decides your bill. A campaign that takes off pushes you up a pricing tier on two of these platforms and costs nothing extra on the third.
That's the most important line in this comparison and it's the one most reviews bury under feature lists.
Leadpages
Leadpages now sells two products. HTML Pub is the publishing layer — pages, blogs, custom domains, AI editor — at $10 (Starter), $29 (Pro), $49 (Business). No A/B testing at all.
Leadpages proper is the conversion layer, and it's what you'd actually compare here:
- Grow — $99/mo, currently $49 for the first month. Unlimited pages and traffic, 4 custom domains, manual A/B testing, dynamic text replacement, lead enrichment on 2,000 IPs a month, 1 seat.
- Optimize — $199/mo, currently $99 first month. Adds Smart Traffic AI routing, click and scroll heatmaps, auto-personalisation, 6 domains, 3 seats, 24-month analytics retention.
- Scale — $399/mo. 10 domains, 10 seats, workspaces, audit logs, full auto-optimisation loop, dedicated CSM.
Annual billing saves 20%.
Strengths. No traffic ceiling anywhere. A/B testing at the entry CRO tier rather than two tiers up. Heatmaps at $199, which Unbounce doesn't offer at any price. Lead enrichment bundled rather than being separate Clearbit-style spend.
Drawbacks. Grow includes one seat, so any real team is on Optimize at $199. The trial is 7 days, the shortest of the three, and requires a card. And because the product was rebuilt recently there's less accumulated community knowledge for the current version — any tutorial or review more than a few months old describes different software.
Best for: anyone running paid traffic that might scale unpredictably, and solo marketers who want A/B testing without paying $149 for it.
Unbounce
- Starter — $29/mo ($22 annual). 5 pages, 500 visitors, 1 user, 1 root domain.
- Build — $99/mo ($74 annual). Unlimited pages, 20,000 visitors, popups and sticky bars, multi-step forms, AI copywriting, 1,000+ integrations.
- Experiment — $149/mo ($112 annual). Unlimited A/B testing and variants, 30,000 visitors, 3 users, 2 domains, dynamic text replacement, confidence intervals.
- Optimize — $249/mo ($187 annual). Smart Traffic AI optimisation, 50,000 visitors, 5 users, 3 domains, scheduling, industry benchmarking.
Concierge and Agency plans are custom-priced. Annual billing saves 25% — the steepest discount of the three.
Strengths. The only genuinely free trial here: 14 days, no credit card, full feature access. The largest integration library. Smart Traffic — automatically routing each visitor to whichever variant is most likely to convert them — is mature and well regarded. Unlimited conversions on every plan, so you're never penalised for converting well.
Drawbacks. Read Starter carefully: 500 visitors a month is a demo allowance, not a working plan. Realistically you start at Build, $99. And A/B testing — the main reason most people buy a landing page tool — doesn't appear until Experiment at $149. No heatmaps at any tier.
Best for: teams who want the deepest testing tooling and the widest integration ecosystem, and who can forecast traffic well enough not to get caught by caps.
Instapage
- Create — $99/mo ($79 annual). 15,000 unique monthly visitors, unlimited pages, conversions and contacts, reusable blocks and forms, real-time visual collaboration, triggered popups and sticky bars, AI content, built-in contacts and email.
- Optimize — $199/mo ($159 annual). 30,000 visitors with a 50,000 option, server-side A/B testing, hypothesis setting, experiment history, custom traffic splitting, scheduling, multi-step forms, dynamic text replacement.
- Convert — custom. Enterprise: ad-to-page personalisation, global elements, root domain publishing, heatmaps, direct lead bypass, enterprise SSO, uptime SLA, dedicated CSM.
Strengths. The best collaboration of the three by a clear margin — threaded, Slack-style comments directly on the page design, which genuinely matters if pages go through client or stakeholder review. Server-side A/B testing avoids the flicker client-side tests cause. Ten team members on every plan, where Leadpages Grow gives you one and Unbounce Build gives you one. AdMap® — visualising which ad points at which page — is unusual and useful once you're running dozens of campaigns.
Drawbacks. The highest realistic entry price, and A/B testing is gated behind the $199 tier. Heatmaps and root-domain publishing are enterprise-only. The free trial is capped at 2,500 visitors and requires a card — exceed the cap and it converts to a paid subscription automatically, which is worth knowing before you point real ad spend at it.
Best for: agencies and marketing teams where several people review a page before it ships, and enterprises needing ad-to-page personalisation at volume.
How to choose
Leadpages if traffic is unpredictable or growing. No caps, A/B testing at the entry CRO tier, heatmaps at $199. The one-seat limit on Grow is the catch.
Unbounce if you want to trial properly before paying — it's the only one that doesn't ask for a card — and you value the integration library and Smart Traffic. Budget $149 if you actually intend to test.
Instapage if more than one person touches a page before it ships. The review workflow is genuinely better and 10 seats are included on every plan.
A note on the advertised prices
All three advertise a number most buyers won't live on. Unbounce's $29 caps at 500 visitors. Leadpages' $49 is a first-month promotion on a $99 plan. Instapage's $79 requires annual commitment.
The honest comparison is $99 against $99 against $99. At that price the real differences are three: whether traffic is capped, whether A/B testing is included, and how many people can log in.
